On May 19th, the "Blue Lake Heaven Qingdao International Spring Art Exhibition" was inaugurated in Qingdao City, China; where I had the honor to be the only painter from Latin America as well as to obtain the 2nd place World Glamor Prize with my 'Old Soul' watercolor between more than 180 paintings. Chinese watercolor is recognized as no. 1 in the world and representing my country in this event has been a wonderful experience, because it fills me with pride and encouragement to be able to give a positive image from all the negative stuff happening in my country.
The exhibit was composed by 20 international artists, 6 Malaysian artists, 9 Austrian artists and 45 Chinese artists. The organizers absorbed all transportation and lodging expenses for the artists.
Qingdao is one of the first cities in China that introduced watercolor in this country and plays a critical role in the development and exchange in the field of watercolor in China and the rest of the world. Qingdao University is characterized by being one of the first universities in the world with specialized formal education of watercolor. Since 2005, the city has held important international events of art exchange, managing to locate the city on the world map of watercolor painting.
The event included different activities such as painting a 30-meter-long watercolor with the artists present, as well as a round table where knowledge and views were exchanged between Chinese and Western painters and a lecture given by Master Elisabeth von Samsonow.
The exhibition will be on display until June 9 at the Lanwan Art Park Gallery, Qingdao, China. Thank you so much Dr. Hong Shan and his beautiful wife Qi Sun for this fantastic experience.
El pasado 19 de mayo se inauguró la Exposición “Lake Blue Heaven Qingdao International Spring Art Salon Exhibition” en la Ciudad de Qingdao, China donde tuve el honor de haber sido la única representante de Latinoamérica así como obtener el 2do lugar World Glamour Prize con mi acuarela ‘Alma Vieja’ (‘Old soul’) de entre más de 180 pinturas. La acuarela China es reconocida en el medio como la no. 1 en el mundo y representar a mi país en dicho evento ha sido una experiencia maravillosa, pues me llena de orgullo poder dar una imagen positiva al exterior dentro de todo lo negativo que sucede en mi país.
La exposición estuvo compuesta por 20 artistas internacionales, 6 artistas de Malasia, 9 artistas Austríacos y 45 artistas Chinos. Los organizadores absorbieron todos los gastos de transporte y hospedaje para los artistas.
Qingdao es una de las primeras ciudades en China que introdujo la acuarela en este país y juega un papel crítico en el desarrollo e intercambio en el campo de la acuarela en China y el resto del mundo. La Universidad de Qingdao se caracteriza por ser de las primeras universidades en el mundo con educación formal especializada de acuarela. Desde el 2005, la ciudad ha llevado a cabo importantes eventos internacionales de intercambio de arte, logrando ubicar a la ciudad en el mapa mundial de la pintura en acuarela.
En el evento se llevaron a cabo diferentes actividades como pintar una acuarela de 30 metros de largo con los artistas presentes, así como una mesa redonda donde se intercambió conocimiento y puntos de vista entre los pintores chinos y de occidente y una conferencia dada por la Maestra Elisabeth von Samsonow.
La exposición estará hasta el 9 de junio del presente año en la Galería de Lanwan Art Park, Qingdao, China. Muchas gracias Dr. Hong Shan y a su esposa Qi Sun por esta maravillosa experiencia.
